Our teams

Three teams, one room.

Twenty-four students across four grade levels work side by side in the same workshop every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday of the school year. Here's who they are.

How the teams work together.

All three teams meet in the same space, often at the same time. The flagship team (4650) is our most experienced — juniors and seniors with three to six years of FTC behind them. Most of those students started on our second team (5713) as freshmen or eighth-graders.

The second team (5713) is where most kids learn the game. It's where they figure out CAD, electronics, programming, and how to work as a competition team. Some stay on 5713 for their whole high school careers. Many move up to 4650 as they grow.

The rookie team (24187) is for first-year FTC students. The current roster is eight freshmen who joined this fall and will be together for four years.

Veterans mentor rookies. Older students machine parts for younger teams. Eighth-graders ask questions of seniors. The room is built for that.
